Solution Architect in IT Service Management
Position Summary
A Solution Architect partners with local sales team to strategize on accounts and identify potential solution opportunities. On site, the SA installs and implements Compuware’s monitoring solutions and perform value-oriented solution based presentations and demonstrations if required. Roles will include handling customer technical questions and issues, performing customer software implementations, creating product positioning and translating business needs into new product features.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Main focus will be installing and implementing Compuware’s monitoring solutions at customer-site and providing support to existing customers.
- Delivers Proof Of Concept’s.
- Provide software implementation and training for new and current customers and other team members. Provide input / Involvement in product related services engagements (scoping, SOW creation, positioning)
- Implement monitoring solutions (End-User-Experience, OS-monitoring, technology-monitoring (e.g. JAVA, .Net) and network-monitoring).at the customer
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers. Partner with sales team to identify additional revenue opportunities from existing customers
- Lead role in discovery phase of sales campaign to identify technical and business needs of prospects.
- Ability to present broad high-level overview of Compuware Distributed solutions
- Analyze business and technical requirements and issues, and provide software solutions accordingly.
- Create formal technical responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information.
- Participate in Compuware sales training, tools training, and ongoing product specialization training.

Required Skills/Competencies
- General Network technologies knowledge (TCP/IP, Sniffers, router, switches, proxies, firewalls, load-balancing technique)
- Basic System Management knowledge (MS server 2003, Linux RED-HAT)
- Basic VBA version 6.x knowledge or above for automated testing scripting
- Basic JAVA and .Net knowledge
- Basic MS-SQL knowledge (Oracle knowledge is a plus)
- 3 – 5 years experience in Troubleshooting and Systems Management
- Protocol understanding (HTTP, SSL, soap/xml)
- Ability to execute and lead quality meeting and/or other field activity
- Experience in the sales support and delivery of information system solutions.
- Presentation skills with the goal of influencing customer decisions to gain and retain Compuware business.
- Strong solution understanding and the ability to advise customers on solutions and their implementation and usage.
- Highly motivated, energetic and committed to getting results.

Desired Skills/Competencies
- Prior experience with IT Service Management, Application Performance Management product and tools.

- Small Project management competences.

.NET Architect
Roles & Responsibilities
Our group of .NET consultants is looking for a highly experienced software architect/engineer to provide leadership and expertise in the technical design and implementation of complex Microsoft .NET based systems. The successful candidate consults with business analysts and developers to ascertain common custom development requirements and then transform requirements into technical specifications. He/she may mentor other software developers through the solution build and implementation phases of development. He/she supports the definition, implementation and maintenance of architectures, tools and processes to facilitate solution development. While the candidate must be a senior-level, accomplished engineer/programmer, an emphasis is placed on the ability to architect sophisticated n-tier applications across all tiers (database, object-oriented class libraries, web).

- You have at least 2 years experience in performing software modelling creating use-cases, ERDs and UML diagrams.
- You are considered an expert in Microsoft's .NET technologies (MCSD.NET Certification Preferred).
- You have at least 2 years hands-on experience with RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle), VB.NET/C#, and ASP.NET.
Key areas in which the candidate will need to have both senior architectural and engineering expertise
- Database architecture, design and development. This includes design of complex data models, advanced data structures, extensive experience with SQL Server 2000, Transact-SQL expertise, Oracle 9i, PL/SQL.
- Object-oriented architecture, design and development with emphasis on the design and development of application frameworks, class libraries, use of design patterns, etc. An extensive background in OO is required.
- Web application architecture, including extensive experience developing web applications with standards-based technologies (HTML, DHTML, Javascript, XML, etc.), partitioning of business log in web-based solutions, etc. Candidate should have worked for many years designing and developing web-based, n-tier systems ideally with Microsoft technologies, but alternatively with a history in related technologies such as J2EE, Cold Fusion, ...
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of .NET architecture, including the .NET Framework, C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET architecture. Candidate must be able to intelligently consider pros/cons of various aspects of .NET architecture - i.e. looking for someone who will (and ideally has) look beyond marketing hype and carefully consider the practical implications of design decisions when working with .NET.
Skills in other areas of application development (again, both at architecture and hands-on level) such as XML, various scripting technologies are highly desired. Nice to have tech-skills: BizTalk 2004; SharePoint; Office 2003 Development.

Key Account Manager
Within the Commercial department and reporting to the Managing Director, the Key Account Manager will have the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Sales of IT Service Management solutions to major companies and Outsourcers/System Integrators in Belgium and Luxembourg, in cooperation with presales consultants;
- Extension of customer portfolio by active prospecting;
- Identification of decision takers at different levels within the company;
- Analysis of the customer needs, in cooperation with a “Solution Architect” and presentation of the possible solutions;
- Identification of specific business opportunities, in cooperation with the other Key Account Managers;
- Evaluation of the reachability of the projects and solutions, internally as well at customer site;
- Management and follow up of the sales cycle.
Required Skills/Competencies
- A few years of experience in a commercial function within the IT sector, high level contacts with big customers;
- Experience multi-level sales;
- Knowledge of some ‘focus markets’ and products, such as Performance Management Partner Sales, Distributed Systems and Solution Selling (Products & Services) is a plus;
- Proven experience and results.
